Waking after a month on the brink of death, Ethan Chase is stunned to learn that the Veil that conceals the fey from human sight was temporarily torn away. Although humankind's glimpse of the world of Faery lasted just a brief moment, the human world has been cast into chaos, and the emotion and glamour produced by fear and wonder has renewed the tremendous power of the Forgotten Queen. Now, she is at the forefront of an uprising against the courts of Summer and Winter—a reckoning that will have cataclysmic effects on the Nevernever.

Leading the Lady's Forgotten Army is Keirran himself: Ethan's nephew, and the traitor son of the Iron Queen, Meghan Chase. To stop Keirran, Ethan must disobey his sister once again as he and his girlfriend, Kenzie, search for answers long forgotten. In the face of unprecedented evil and unfathomable power, Ethan's enemies must become his allies, and the world of the fey will be changed forevermore.

Cover
I've said it before, The Iron Fey's covers are gorgeous. While this was not my favorite in the series (I think my favorites are The Iron Daughter and The Iron Queen) it was still beautiful and fit right into the faerie concept. The person on the cover is Ethan, but I don't imagine him like that. I see him as a boy with a bit of a fringe (still brown) and soft features. While this wasn't much of a problem for me, I am still displeased with the person on the cover.

Ethan Chase
Ethan is a very courageous guy. He can survive months in NeverNever where faeries are there to kill him with a few swords and some friends.
Come on, let's be a bit more realistic here, a human surviving in NeverNever? I get it, it's a book, but it's still a bit weird. He should have been dead, but I get that books like these need a 'happy ending' (so do I, to be honest).
Nevertheless, I liked him, but I still prefer Meghan as protagonist. I missed Ash and Puck a lot, but I understand that it's not their story anymore.

Kenzie
How I loved her. She is such a sweet, down-to-earth person. She was very brave, but not in the way you're used to in Fantasy. Kenzie couldn't fight, she used her brain and was there for Ethan's support. She wasn't obviously smart, like Harry Potter's Hermione or Carry On's Penelope, but she brought the female cleverness into their adventure. I find her amazing and very realistic for a Fantasy girl.

Ethan x Kenzie
Their relationship was very sweet, but didn't spark me as much Ash x Meghan did. It seemed too romantic to me and very rushed. However, I think this has something to do with the main character being a boy and not a girl, or me growing up. I was hoping for more romantic moments except for 'I love you's' or (very) rushed sex (which only happened once, and you didn't get many details).

Keirran
While most people would hate Keirran, I really didn't. He seemed like an interesting villain to me, with him being Ethan's nephew and all. Also, the prince of the Iron Realm being a villain, and obviously having to be punished? Cool. It was interesting they didn't use a sociopath or a psychopath, but someone influenced with magic. It brought up a lot of anticipation from my side for when he was going to be himself again.

The ending
I liked the ending, but I don't feel closure. Please note, I was busy reading this series for almost 3 years, that's a lot. I really liked the idea of giving the Forgotten Fae a ruler, just like the Iron Fey got.
MEGHAN'S/ETHAN'S PARENTS FINALLY GOT TO MEET KEIRRAN. IMSTILLSHOOK. I'm a bit sad they didn't 'show' us the following conversation, but the idea is great on it's own.
Kenzie's ending was great depending on her illness. I was very glad her illness didn't 'magically disappear', cause cancer never does, but it is better than her being in the hospital. A bit bummed (actually really sad) that I won't see more of my faerie friends anymore, but I'm planning on reading the novellas if I ever re-read. I'm gonna miss this series. They're so good, it always makes me feel like I'm apart of that world. I actually mourned about ending this. I RECOMMEND THESE SERIES. READ THEM. FHFJ THEY'RE SO UNDERRATED. 5/5 stars

Also, I'm back after my 2 month-hiatus. I'm excited to start writing reviews again. I'm just really busy with school and I feel too stressed for reading or I forget. I'm really sorry, but I'll try to read more since I have holidays now.
