Insurgent - Veronica Roth

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

Aah, I love the cover! It totally gives me the feeling what the book is about, something I really want. The covers are gorgeous, on this cover you can see the symbol of Amity (basically friendship), the faction where Tris and her friends start because she's not safe in her own faction.

I'm sorry, I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first. I had this huge gap of non reading for 1 month and then picking it up again, I think it took me 2 months to read this book. That's an awful lot, and maybe it was because of the Dutch writing, or it was just boringly written.

I don't like Tris, she's horribly selfish. I can't believe there is Abnegation in her (selflessness), she doesn't listen and I don't like her at all. In Divergent, she shoots someone, and it takes her so long to pick up a gun again. Like, really? She wasn't that bad-ass, she's whiny. She keeps complaining that she isn't good enough and that she should die, while she has a bunch of friends that sacrificed everything for her (and of course, Tobias/Four).

To be honest, I think the book had some parts that should have been taken out, but I -of course- still liked it. I like the idea of the story a lot, and I like Uriah and Tobias a lot, but Tris really needs to know that's she's acting stupid and she shouldn't want to do everything on her own.

Also, I need to say that I couldn't survive a day in this world. Jeanine is just wow, the most awful villain I've ever had in a book. So I wouldn't have acted differently if I was Tris.

If you like Dystopian more than I do (I like Fantasy more), I highly suggest you read this series or check it out if you've been living under a rock. 3,5/5 stars from me.
